Not that I will do much ocean swimming because of those pesky hurricanes BUT... I am heading to Myrtle Beach in the morning and will be gone until the 30th.
Please don't burn the place down while I'm gone.
Keep the lights burning.
Try not to let Frank and Joe escape!
And keep the monkeys contained.
::hugs!::

Oh, but I came back to burn the place down! Hmm, to try and not to let those two escape - that is the idea..

Wait, keep the lights burning *and* keep the place from burning down? :looks at matches: :looks at bucket of water: All right, let's hope I can manage to use these appropriately. Hope you have great weather in Myrtle...and if you find someone who knows why so many of the seashells down there are dark orange, do let me know. No one had an answer when we were there.

Have fun!!!! did you say keep the monkeys contained??? ummmm problem... they must've gotten free. Also the cats are out of the bags... Good news is that Frank and Joe haven't escaped but Ritu is circling so i might need backup to keep them here! Enjoy and the place should still be standing when you get back

I had an AWESOME time in Myrtle Beach. I actually hated coming home (and I never hate coming home!). I really wanted to bring the ocean and beach (and balcony!) home with me!
::dramatic sigh::

Yay! Welcome back! Isn't it lovely? I didn't want to leave either, and the husband was no sooner home than suggesting we do it again next year, maybe start a new tradition. How was the water, apart from beautiful? Safe enough to get some swimming in after all? Find any good shells?

I didn't go out very far - it had quite a few waves - and there's a city ordinance you can't go over your shoulders in the ocean anyway so it's good... There were people in the water - I don't know what normal was for September - but nobody seemed to have any trouble. They stayed where they could touch, at least... Yeah, we plan to go back. Maybe not next year but in the next 2-or-3? Yes! LOVE IT.

Glad you had a great time! I LOVE being near the ocean, too. I grew up inland, but have lived near the ocean (like, a 10-15 minute drive) for years now. I'm not sure I will ever be able to give it up! Something about the ambiance, and the air quality / smell / humidity ... Ahhhhh! 🏖🌊🐚⛱

I have lived by the beach in a few places - or just by the ocean with no beach (Alaska comes to mind! Ketchikan just doesn't have much in the way of BEACH lol but Metlakatla did). Still, I agree - the ambiance, the air quality/smell... it was all lovely. I MISS IT!
