Geez, we just moved the HDA, and now I'm up and moving myself too. At this rate, I'll never have all my stuff in one spot! I've been interviewing in the Seattle area for a while, and last week some folks flew me down for a final in-person meet up. I got the offer letter yesterday, so barring any hitches up the gitty up, in five weeks I'll be moving to Seattle!!! Woohoo!!! That makes at least 3 of us in the PNW (provided, at least, that Scott B eventually finds his way over to this board). Of course, I've been in the PNW for a few years, but Alaska is a 'fur piece' from JD down in Oregon... now I can practically wave to you from my porch!

Congratulations, Austin! That's wonderful! LOL at never having all your stuff in one place. When I was in my moving every few years phase, I found that every time I moved a few things never made it to the new place. Don't know how, as I always made sure the place I left was empty but I'd get to the new place and lo and behold, something was gone. I just figured it was God's way of saying "Alaina, you have too much stuff!"

Thanks everyone! We closed the offer yesterday so it's all official now. Sadly, Lucy will be hanging out in Alaska for now. My ex still lives here and we both agree that Alaska suits her much better - her favorite temperature is 10-20 degrees and you just don't get much of that in Seattle. Plus, here she can go off-leash almost all the time, and that would likely never be a real possibility in Seattle. So, my little muffin will be far away!!! Aw, Austin, it makes my heart hurt that you have to leave your girl. But it shows the kind of person you are and how much you love her that you are doing what's best for her. You are an awesome pup-parent.

Congratulations on the new job and the new home! And I'm sorry you'll have to leave Lucy behind. Kudos for thinking of what's best for HER and not yourself.

Yeah, she's probably much better suited for Alaska. Sometimes the best decisions are the hardest ones to make. Oh, and I'll still take you all out to lunch...even without Lucy here.

I'll still take you all out to lunch...even without Lucy here. We're driving for sure through Utah now!!! Maybe one day ... I can't wait to get back to the interior West and the southwest to do some road tripping!

Congratulations, Austin! Seattle's great! The Floating Bridge---the Space Needle---the monorail. I can never find my way around without a GPS but other people seem to do fine. And I've never ridden the monorail. I did insist on crossing the floating bridge though. Be sure to visit Dick's Drive In!

Congratulations on the new job! And I understand how hard it is to do what's best for our furry family members when it's not what we want most.

Thanks Robina and Fiona! Scott -- I have passed a Dick's a few times, but I haven't stopped in yet! But I did manage to find my way to Katsu Burger in Georgetown.... omg. Here's a pic of my burger:

I've been to Georgetown but never to Katsu Burger.
When I'm up there, I just get dragged around everywhere. I'm at everyone else's mercy.

Holy Moley Austin, do you have a hollow leg? Well, I sure can EAT!!! My legs usually feel like they're made of lead - I think it's my head that's hollow. Scotty - next time you're gonna be in town, let me know and I'll take you out for a coffee or maybe a Katsu burger? We'd have a lot to catch up on!
