So, since we're getting close to the season:
What is your favorite Halloween costume you ever dressed-up in? (if you have one!)
Mine was a Klingon - homemade - that I dressed up as in Reno for a party at the preschool I worked in. I even won best costume! (yay!). My sister Robin made the costume and my sister Shawn helped me with all of the make-up. It was quite fun! (though I did scare one of my preschool kids!)

My husband and I went to a costume party when he was in dental school as Robin Hood and Maid Marian [Marian was also in a Merry Men type of outfit, with breeches and vest, NOT a long skirt!], also homemade, complete with bows, arrows, quivers, cute little feathered hats, etc. That was back in the days when I actually did things with a sewing machine!

I made a Star Trek red shirt one year in high school. Although this year I have to work on Halloween so I might just wear a green outfit with red shoes (I'm a very distant relation of Margaret Brainard Hamilton, the original Wicked Witch of the West.....).

Well, I'm sure you're MUCH nicer than the Wicked Witch!

I made a Star Trek red shirt one year in high school. Since you're still here to tell the tale, I assume this was a Next Generation era red shirt.

Oh, back when I was ten or eleven, the family went as a sort of group theme. My sister and I were black cats, my mom was a little boy and my stepfather was a little girl- the pet owners. We had fake ears and face makeup and leashes and all, Mom went with a kind of baseball hooligan look (including a bat) and my stepdad wore a pink skirt and dug up a parasol from somewhere.

I don't know if I can pick just one costume. I've dressed up as Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) and Scarlett O'Hara - the green and white picnic dress and Alice in Wonderland. My husband and I dressed as Steed and Mrs. Peel - The Avengers one year which was fun.

Tippi Hedren from "The Birds". Complete with fabulous thrift store outfit, pearls, blonde wig....and assorted birds attached to me trying to peck me to death. And a little fake blood, too.

So I'm part of an online book club based loosely on the Wheel of Time series....been there for ten years. Our community organization is loosely based on the diocesan structure of Catholicism (novice, Acvepted, full sister). I'm an Accepted this year. All the groups get to play and have fun with a Halloween festival and this year I get to switch my avatar to the original Wicked Witch. :giggle Originally I was going to go with the community group I decided to join and be Doc Savage but hey, you're an Accepted far shorter than you are a sister.

A couple years ago I was Where's Waldo! I started with a red tee shirt and taped white duct tape onto it in a horizontal stripe pattern. I didn't factor in exactly how much the fabric would expand once it was on my body! 😬 I have a fairly robust / muscular chest and shoulder area. Let's just say it was VERY hard to breathe that night!!! LOL! And I may have had a few glasses of wine (it was a benefit dinner, after all...). Come midnight, it sure was hard to extract myself from that duct tape tube! I think I woke up the next morning in a rat's nest of duct tape and fabric! 😎
