Has anyone tried them? I did today with a groups of friends. We had a great time! You get the chance to put your sleuthing skills to the test. We did pretty well, but not enough to escape. We were so close! I think we had about three clues left to solve when our time ran out.

We have some on our area and I think my daughters would enjoy them. There’s one that is Harry Potter themed as well.

I have never heard of them...I thought Sal was referring to those locked-in rooms where you go in case of fire or catastrophe, in buildings!

Harry Potter themed would be fantastic! I donno... I think that I'd be pretty claustrophobic after an hour in one room that I CANNOT leave. I have to give a disclaimer though. I know that they have OFFICIAL Harry Potter themed escape rooms. The one in our area is a "wizard school" escape room because they can't come right out and say that it's based on Harry Potter. |

I agree with you, Joyce- it 'sounds' fun, but confronting the reality of a locked room that I can't get out of for an hour would send my claustrophobia soaring. "Ok, forget the puzzles, I'm gonna just knock down this wall here."

I don't know if it's the same with all escape room companies, but the one we were at had someone monitoring the whole time. He helped to push us in the right direction at times. He was also listening just in case one of us needed to leave. Our locked doors weren't really. So you could leave at any time. But we were so focussed on finding and solving clues, even our friend who was worried about being locked in was begging for five minutes more.

My partner and I took on the challenge yesterday - and had a great time. It's the first room escape calgary we've tried, so can't really compare it to others - but definitely think it's worth the money. Puzzles were cute, they made us work as a team to escape. |
