The first two chapters of September Song are posted on Fanfiction.net. I will be adding a new chapter probably every day -- if I remember to do it.

Cheryl, I'll probably get reviews on the order of "This isn't canon! And why's it so out of date?!"

Well, not so far from what I can tell!

Agreed with Rokia! So far, great feedback. A lot isn't canon over there.

Firstly, thank you so much, Rokia and Cheryl, for posting such nice feedback! And I have a question: What's the protocol for replying to such? If possible, I write back a grateful private message, but not everyone accepts those over there. Does one post in the Comments section to say thank you, or is that frowned upon?

Hi JD.
Some people don't do anything, but the majority of people do one of these two things:
1. Thank the people who posted in the next chapter that you post. So, if you post chapter 3, say something like "Thank you to x,y, and z for reviews on the last chapter"
OR
2. Send a PM.
I try to do both for my story with Alaina and my own one.
And you're welcome. I try to leave feedback when I can. I know it's important! My pleasure.

I leave private feedback (sometimes) and sometimes I just thank people in a note in the next chapter. Still figuring all that out myself.
I owe you several responses Cheryl! My brain is taken up with Good Friday and Easter... hopefully it will free up soon!

I send both a private message, and do an acknowledgment in an author's note in the next chapter I post. Although, if the person doesn't have a ff account, then I might add a personal remark in the author's note to that reviewer if there is a particular comment I wanted to address, or a question they wanted answered. I always include a new author's note at the beginning of each chapter.
