Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

So I watched this movie. It wasn't what I expected. Reminded me a little of In the Heat of the Night, with a small town police chief and some officers who weren't very good. But everyone talked the same, all using the same obscenities over and over and over. Seems like if a woman walked into your office asking to rent billboards, you wouldn't use obscene language when speaking to her. Surprisingly violent. 

Written by an Irish guy. They should have used a Norwegian or maybe a Slovak. 

I just looked the guy up. Said he was influenced by Quentin Tarantino and David Mamet, so that explains a lot.
