...non-Halloween Halloween movie?
I once asked for everyone’s favorite non-Christmas Christmas movie. You know, the one you find yourself watching when Christmas comes around despite the fact that it’s not TECHNICALLY a Christmas movie?
Well, how about everyone’s favorite October movies?
For me it’s the Corpse Bride. Beetlejuice and both Addams Family movies along with the tv shows the Addams Family and the Munsters. This year I’ll probably add Disney’s Coco to the list.
Anyone else?

I'm not sure if I have one... I tend to veer away from those kinds of movies. Though I do rather like the Addams Family

I don't have a favorite. There was a time when it might have been Night of the Living Dead. Later, probably the silent movie Nosferatu, an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula, but I got tired of that.

I don't watch any of those types of movies...no, wait, I take it back. Favorite non-Halloween Halloween movies? Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. Hands down. But I don't watch the other sorts, although I have seen Beetlejuice at least once.

Arsenic and Old Lace. I also like The Adams Family and Theatre of Blood with Vincent Price and Diana Rigg.

Are there any actual Halloween movies other than Halloween and its sequels? The kids were in costume in To Kill a Mockingbird, but was that for Halloween?

Are there any actual Halloween movies other than Halloween and its sequels? The kids were in costume in To Kill a Mockingbird, but was that for Halloween? Sure. The first that pops into my head is Hocus Pocus. A huge fan favorite. And Nightmare Before Christmas could be considered both a Halloween and a Christmas movie.
And personally, I can't stand horror movies.

Haven't seen Hocus Pocus. I did think of A Nightmare Before Christmas. Other than that, I could only think of a few with brief Halloween sequences, like E.T., Ed Wood, or Mask (the one with Cher).

Ah yes, I did enjoy the Ghostbuster movies! And I admit, I saw Fright Night (not scary imho) and my friend Elaine talked me into Saturday the 14th (a horror movie showing when i visited her once)

A comedian posted this on Twitter:
"It's adults that have stretched out Halloween for a month, kids know there's only a 3 hour window that matters."
This is probably the reason there are hardly any holiday movies about Halloween.

A comedian posted this on Twitter: "It's adults that have stretched out Halloween for a month, kids know there's only a 3 hour window that matters."This is probably the reason there are hardly any holiday movies about Halloween. My youngest calls October the "month of Halloween". That is, today isn't October 18th, it's the 18th of Halloween.
And when I was a kid, Halloween was, indeed, 2 or 3 hours. Or in the case of my parents, 15 minutes. Our neighborhood was 7 houses (including ours) and that was it. Rarely did they ever go outside the neighborhood to trick or treat.
NOW, Halloween is over a week long! The city where I live has "Downtown Trick or Treat" the Friday before Halloween where the kids have one hour to go from shop to shop. Truck or treats are set up in various church parking lots the week before Halloween as well as malls who have their own trick or treat times.
It's awesome because a child can wear their costume several days and rake in TONS of candy. Wears the parents out though...

I don't really have any favorite October movies. Years ago I would rewatch the classic Halloween horror films but it's been a couple of decades. LOL But for me I guess I'd say any of the M. Night Shamalyn (I know I butchered it) movies. You know: Sixth Sense, the one with the Aliens, and those.
