I'm just glad my family has given up on Christmas trees. And we have a little more time because some of us will be away on Xmas itself.
I thought maybe I should have sort of a theme. Like, used electronics for everyone. But no one wants that stuff.

Christmas trees... with two small black frequently-rampaging balls of fur in the house (generally known as cats) our Christmas trees consist of the little 2-foot ones, placed way up on the entertainment unit, where they can't be knocked down and-or chewed on. Saves a lot of time, I must say.

Christmas trees here: one 11-foot, one 9-foot. It takes a full day to decorate one tree. My sister happened to be here on Sunday/Monday and helped me decorate one; I started the other yesterday morning and my husband helped finish it last night.
Most of the homemade candy is finished; just have to chocolate-dip one batch of strawberry creams yet. And the ones I mail, I mailed today.
Now if I'd even STARTED thinking about gifts for 20+ people...17 of whom will be here on Christmas Day for dinner.

Wow, JD! That is some dedicated tree decoration. Which one do the presents go under? ACK. Full house incoming! Reminds me of Christmases with my Mom's side of the family. All us cousins had to eat at the kids' table in the kitchen, there wasn't room in the dining room... Good luck with the gift-hunt!

The presents go under the one in the family room, the shorter one. It has decorations in multi-colors. The one in the front hall is decorated in silver, white and clear glass/crystal ornaments and white lights, and doesn't have presents under it. Just the cats. There have been years that we've had THREE tables, one in the dining room, one in the living room, and the kids in the kitchen! This year I think I can get by with just two.

Ooo, sounds lovely. And one of each, multi and clear, how practical! I always had (have) trouble keeping the cats away from the presents; they all seem intent on devouring the ribbons. Which is not good for them! Three tables worth of kin.... :contemplates that: We'd not be able to move, here, we'd have to just stand like statues, clutching our plates and tucking our elbows in.

Erg! If I could magically make another week appear before now and Christmas I would.
To start with, I'm making a bunch of gifts from my loom. I spent yesterday sewing but I still have bunch to do. I barely got my tree up this year and almost no decorations at all (other than outside lights). I ended up taking an unexpected trip to Chicago when Anita was hired to be a photographer for Kidcon. She needed someone to either come with her and help her with her three kids OR have someone watch the kids for the weekend while she went alone. I didn't like the idea of her traveling by herself that distance with a car that isn't exactly sound so I went with her. So I'm now very far behind than I had planned on shopping and sewing. Baking hasn't occurred at all.
The saving grace of it all is that our family get together isn't until the 27th. I'd still like to get things done before then so I'm not spending Christmas Day sewing or madly trying to finish things.
