Did everyone see that Paul Schrader posted on Facebook that Brian De Palma was trite and artistically weak? How do you like that?
Out of curiosity, I turned on a Paul Schrader movie. It started with Willem Dafoe horribly murdering a woman and her young daughter while funny music played on the soundtrack. And Schrader was 70 when he directed that. Hard to believe he was once a Calvinist.
I saw De Palma's Phantom of Paradise when I was 13 or something and didn't care for it. Hated The Untouchables. I don't believe Elliot Ness killed dozens and dozens of people. Haven't seen Mission Impossible and never will because it has Tom Cruise in it. Carlito's Way looked stupid. I liked Obsession, though.
