Pretty much seems to be. We gave it the old college try after HDA was shut down, but it just didn't gain the traction that the old board had. I'll keep swinging by daily, just in case, but I'll be amazed if I see any new posts.
Even the games don't really work now, as there are just too few of us left. Pretty depressing to compare the current state of this board to the heyday of the HDA.

Yeah. Everyone else seems to have moved on. A little crazy that I'm one of the last ones still clinging to it. Although it has been almost twenty years.
As the old message board went belly up, I didn't really see the point in opening this one with the exact same rules. Why ban minors from a Hardy Boys site and then also ban discussion of any adult topic?
I'm sure I'll stop in once in a while to see if anything's happening. But Shane, JD, anyone else, if we don't communicate again, it's been fun. Good luck. I'll be thinking of you.

I'm around, and check in every day, but... you might have noticed I wasn't very active on the busy old board, so it's not surprising that I haven't posted much on here either  It is sad though, the HDA is/was the only forum I've ever hung out on.  |

I've got accounts on a couple of others (not HB-related, mostly musical) that I joined before signing up with HDA in 2012. Barely been active on any of them. Post counts are only in the double digits. The members there are probably grateful. Let's just say that HDA wasn't the only forum where I made bad puns. Cheers, Scott. *Pokes head in* I don't seem to get over here very much, but I will keep mentioning any site/fic updates I make, in case someone be interested. I'm not participating on any other boards either- message boards, like websites, seem to have become a thing of the past, and most activity goes on on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, etc. I tend to steer clear of social media; I did try FB, and it drove me batty, so that was that. I've never been a very talkative person anyway; I was known as The Quiet One back in TCats days.  |

I don't do social media either, other than texting with people that I actually KNOW! But I do check in here now and again and always read everyone's posts, if new.

A lot of the inaction is because there isn't any story commentary any more. That was the lifeblood of the old board.

Hello! Long time, no see. I guess its alot of factors, busy lives, more work, no stories to read and comment. The fact i don't use a computer very often anymore and that when on a computer i would always sign in here/hda but more using a phone now, typing isnt the same.
Miss it though. Also the people and the chats! By the way, JD still love getting your ecards! I will hopefully be more active. Good to see some have returned. *waves*

Busy, yes, and interests change over time, too. You're interested, you have fun, you're invested...but after a while you begin to drift away. And when you come back, you find things have changed, it's hard to get the 'flavor' back again.
That's what I did, anyway; after years with the HDA I ran out of Hardy steam, got beguiled by another fandom and concentrated exclusively on writing for that lot. Doesn't make my years at the old board any less enjoyable, or diminish the sense of community I felt there, but now that the Boys have marched back into my imagination, I do find that things have changed. T'was bound to happen- it did before and it likely will again.
All that said, I envy those who can write in more than one fandom at a time. I simply cannot do that, I have to stay strictly focused on one chief writing-interest. It does make things difficult!
