It's been a while since I posted (anything, really) here so I thought I'd show those of you who are not on Facebook the latest photos of my grandkids.
Here's Jude and Ellie. Jude is six (will be 7 in January) and Ellie is 5. Jude is in first grade and Ellie is in Young Fives.
And here's Isaiah. He's 20 months old and will be 2 in February. (That's his other grandma behind him.)

Young Fives is in between preschool and kindergarten. it’s for kids who might technically be old enough for kindergarten but would be the youngest in the class. At that age there can be a HUGE difference in abilities with an only 6-8 month age difference. She’ll take kindergarten next year.

My daughter's birthday is in September, and used to fall on the cutoff date for kindergarten. But halfway through her last preschool year, they moved up the cutoff date so that she missed it by two months. They refused to even consider letting her into kindergarten, despite her preschool teachers insisting she was ready and would only be hindered by another year of preschool. A program like that would have been nice. Although she is quite academically advanced, so it would have had to keep up with her brain lol. Since we don't have that and she clearly needed more than another year of preschool, we decided to homeschool her. She's done very well, and is now in 5th grade (ish. She's at a different level in each subject).

Thank you! Yeah, it's flat out amazing how quickly they grow. Seemingly more quickly than my own kids did although I know that's just because I don't see them daily. Here's a photo taken yesterday before the two older ones went to school. Jude is on crutches because he got a hairline fracture in his foot.
