Fred Willard has died at 86.
I saw him one time about forty years ago. They were filming the movie How to Beat the High Cost of Living here. They were filming a scene in a gas station a block and a half from me, but I didn't feel like going down there. But, later, I walked down to Wendy's to get something. I was carrying my food home and was going to cut through the Taco Time parking lot. The film crew was gone but there was an RV parked there and, in the window of the RV was FRED WILLARD. I didn't even know he was in the movie. He was eating a taco and appeared to be talking to someone.
I froze. I stood there gawking for a moment, but realized there was nothing more I could do, so I kept walking. Let the man eat his taco. Not that I was bothering him.

Long ago, he was on Fernwood Tonight, later America Tonight. More recently he played Phil's father on Modern Family and Amy's father on Everybody Loves Raymond. He was in This is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind and Best in Show.
I just looked him up on IMDb. I was shocked to see he was in The Bold and the Beautiful for a while.

Don't feel bad, Mamabear, I didn't know who it was either.  Lol, to make it worse, there are only two titles out of those listed that I recognized...and only one that I've seen any episodes of (and even then only a couple). 😆

Well after this, I just had to IMDb him lol. Turns out I did recognize his face, but not from any of the shows that Scott listed. I recognized him from his brief appearances in Good Luck Charlie, Raising Hope, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Friends.
