So today we were driving home from an event, dressed up in full Steampunk regalia, when who should we run into riding his bicycle down the road?
None other than Thomas Craig, aka Inspector Brackenreid from Murdoch Mysteries!
Raven rolled down the window and said "Good evening, Inspector" since we stopped beside each other at a red light. He said "Steampunkers! You should be riding in a carriage, not a car!" Then the light turned green and we had to drive off because there was a lot of cars behind us. You just never know who you might run into in Toronto!

This is actually the 4th time we've seen him, but only the 2nd that we spoke.
The first time we met him was at a Murdoch book launch party. We know the author and her husband, so we were there and a few of the actors came out too. We spent a lot of the evening talking to him, but I don't think he remembers, because... well... he was rather "in his cups" that night. It was an open bar and he was celebrating, LOL.
The other times were when we bumped into the crew shooting a scene in a town we were visiting. We watched them shoot the scene for over an hour, and when it aired, it was less than a minute of the show! Then we also got to see the whole cast when Raven won tickets to the premier party at CBC for the beginning of last season.
This time was just so funny because it was very random & unexpected!

I have to confess that I am not familiar with either the actor or the show, but I'm delighted for Nancy and Raven that they were and are and got to talk to one of the stars. If something like that happened to me, I'd be totally oblivious -- I'd be like "Uh -- who? He's on what? No, never heard of it, sorry."  |

I think you'd like Murdoch Mysteries, JD! It's about the adventures of a police detective in Victorian Toronto. There's a great supporting cast, and a lot of historic characters turn up as part of the cases. It's Canada's most successful TV series ever!

I too admit to being unfamiliar with the Murdoch Mysteries and I also admit (somewhat sheepishly) to having to Google Steampunk because I didn't know what that was either!
