I'll be leaving a week from today for my local sojourn to Gencon (which takes place in Indianapolis). I've figured out this will be my 21st Gencon! This is the first year (since the 2nd year in Indy - so 14 or so years ago) that I am WALKING the convention. I used to rent a scooter (mobility scooter, not one of those you stand on and push with your foot!) but this year, as part of the whole losing weight thing, it's walking year. I have a rollator (walker with wheels and a seat that we call a walkinator) to give me support - and new ankle braces for my absurdly flat feet. (I was told I not only have flat feet but I have VERY flat feet!). I never used to get to announce vacations because I didn't want stupid hackers to hack the board while I was gone... but now I can! (btw, Gencon is a gaming convention! If you like board games, card games, role-playing games, LARPs, miniatures, writing seminars, etc, this is YOUR convention -- however, not this year because they, for the first time, sold out all their tickets).

Good for you with the walking! And while I miss the old board a bit, it is relaxing not to worry about what's up, isn't it. The convention sounds like fun, too.

I like not having to worry about it - though I do miss some of it as well. Still, a lot of y'all came out of the woodwork when I made the announcement - that made me quite happy!
