Oh Robina, I'm so sorry! I hope they find the person that hit you. And I'm glad you're all right!

JD, that sounds like a scavenger hunt list. :Waves at Austin: My in-laws lately moved back here from Seattle- Port Orchard area, right across the Sound from the city. Lovely out there, when it isn't raining! Good luck with the new-new job! Good luck with the lad, too, the change from long distance to directly underfoot can be a tad surprising at times. Port Orchard is divine!!! If I lived out there, I don't think I would ever leave! :-D

Insurance approved the estimate and the last of the parts needed arrived today so they should be starting the repair work either Friday or early next week. It's unlikely that they will ever find the guy who hit me.

At least your car will be repaired, though!

relaxing now. Been on placement all week. Busy and the weather has been crazy! last week of November was soooo HOT! then last weekend we were on storm and flood warnings all weekend as we were expecting 3 months worth of rain. Luckily it wasn't that bad, but the last 24 hours my town has had 66mls of rain dumped. All nice and clear now this afternoon.... Im so tired. I have work this weekend but xmas lunch tomorrow with friends which im looking forward to after a emotionally long week with a death in the family overseas. 2 more weeks of placement and hopefully Ill be done with my course.

Mostly dipping chocolates [Christmas candy], although I did have a haircut appointment earlier in the day.

It snowed this week. I'm procrastinating on Christmas this year fr some reason and haven't done ANYTHING yet.

Watching it snow outside my windows at work and waiting to get home tonight for the first night of Hanukkah. My son decided to make sure I was awake by blasting the Maccabeats' 'Latke Recipe' song at 6:45 this morning. Thanks, sweetie...

Sitting at work (lunch break) and wondering why I didn't just call in sick...
Well, honestly I love my job and everything's fine here. I just wish I had a day to myself to clean my house while the girls are at school. I want to get our tree up this week. Mary's birthday is Friday (she's SEVENTEEN!!) and I'm watching the grandkids for a few hours on Thursday night. I'm also trying to squeeze in Christmas shopping here and there when I can. Lots of online buying this year.

Woot! My meeting tonight has been cancelled due to the weather! Now I can start hoping for the library to close early for the same reason...

Heard "En Excelcius Deo" (spelled that wrong) on the classical music station tonight and immediately thought of zenfrodo. Zen, I miss new installments and hope things are ok. Drove home in a blizzard with white out conditions. It's always interesting when the dirt road you live on has a single lane of tire tracks in a foot of snow.........just glad I skipped the office holiday party tonight.

I haven't checked in in ages either. We got not quite an inch of snow this past Friday, which was all gone by noon. Alas. It also snowed clear down to Brownsville! It's just slightly north of Miami. I couldn't have been more surprised if it *had* snowed in Miami.
Released my eighth novel last week and it's going really well. Snagged some awesome promo to go with it, the biggest of which is happening tomorrow. I'm both nervous and excited about it.
Christmas is weird this year because my dad goes back to work Christmas day. Married brother is supposedly coming up this Saturday (will believe it when I see it, due to Things. From his own imagination, that didn't actually happen) It's looking like it'll be just me, Mama, and Elizabeth on Christmas Day. So we're planning to binge season 2 of The Crown.

At work watching the white, puffy flakes fall... Weather forecasters are saying between 3 and 5 inches falling throughout the day. I have a normal 30 minute drive home. I have a hunch it's going to be longer. Mary is SUPPOSED to work the Advent dinner tonight at church and Laura's appointment with the tutor is this evening. Even in good weather, it would be rough to make it to both. I have a hunch one or both will be cancelled. I'll wait till I drive home this evening. AND... On Monday night we had a small cat appear on our doorstep, begging to come in. I fixed up a little bed outside with a blanket over top to keep him warm. He was still there the next morning. With the temps going down, I brought him inside. I had him checked at the vet to see if he had a chip - he does not. Now I'm sending out Facebook messages and online alerts that we found this very, very sweet kitty! Right now he's confined in a cage borrowed from my daughter. My two males are acting wary but my female Sofie is PISSED! I can't blame her, I suppose.

It's funny, but I have found it is always easier to introduce a new cat to already-in-the-home to male cats than to female cats. You would think the maternal instinct thing would kick in...

Yeah, my Jax gets super pissed about any foreign cat smells and makes it very well known she's territorial. :\

Jasper is by far the friendliest. Pumpkin and Sofie are still hissing at the little guy.
Mary and I have dubbed him Inkpot. 😀. He’s pretty small but I don’t think he’s a kitten. He’s pretty chill and not too interested in playing. He’s enjoying napping on the couch a lot. 😂

Been busy with the church Christmas Program this year -- extra rehearsals and so forth. Need to get shopping done. It's dreary and cold out (humid cold so... colder than the temp tries to tell you it is!)

After nearly a week of gastrointestinal flu accompanied by a torn-up bottom lip and scraped face [fell and hit my face on the bathroom counter when I was sick], I'm finally, TONIGHT, feeling almost human again. Aside from the lip, which is still very swollen and sore. Thank goodness for husband and sons, who pitched in like troupers [and my husband had the flu FIRST, coming down about 36 hours before I did], and cleaned, scrubbed, and set tables with the good china and silver, [or arrived from out of town and started in cooking and baking for two days straight!] and shopped for all the gifts I wasn't able to, we managed to host 19 people for the usual extended-family Christmas dinner yesterday. Today we just sort of recuperated!

Hey fflurcadwgawn -- sorry, I haven't been on the board lately. Been caught up in revamping our living space as time/energy/health allows. We got our SSD back payments as the appeal went through, and are taking the influx of cash to catch up on repairing/replacing/fixing all the stuff that's broken/worn-out/beyond-repair in the apartment, as well as finally turning this place into a home instead of a "temporary landing spot". I know a couple folks here are on my Facebook FL, and can vouch for all the pics I've been posting over there. We've been in this apartment close to 9 years now, so it's time we actually settled down & acted a bit like adults. We woke up to two inches of snow on Christmas morning. YAY!!!
