Let's start a conversation thread! (The last one I started like this - "What's for dinner?" - went an amazingly long time!) So today I've got the grandkids. My son-in-law's birthday was this week and Anita bought him tickets to a comedy club show. Since the show was going to run late, I offered to keep the kids overnight. I love my grandkids but I don't sleep very well with someone in bed with me (I've slept alone for almost a decade now). I have a queen-size bed but it's flat out amazing how much room two little kids will take up! Jude has to sleep RIGHT NEXT to me. Not a huge issue but, grandma here is getting old! And at night she suffers hot flashes! This morning it's buttermilk blueberry pancakes and bacon. It only took me twice as long to make it! Having Laura in the mix with two toddlers running around makes everything take longer. Here's a picture they had taken about a month ago. Aren't they getting big??

They're beautiful, Joyce! But I sure wouldn't share my bed with 'em! Guess it's a good thing I don't have grandkids, eh?

And to answer your question - I'm getting caught up on laundry and cleaning today. Marykay flew in on Thursday afternoon and last night we went to see Bon Jovi at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly! Sold out show - we were in the 9th row!!! He's still gorgeous and knows how to bring the house down! I didn't sit down once. Where's the headbanger smiley when you need it?? Sad smiley because I dropped MK at the airport a few hours ago; she is now winging her way back home.

Your grandkids are adorable, Joyce! Today my mom and I went to visit my brother-in-law at the rehab facility he's in a the moment. It's great to see him making soooo much progress. (He had a massive stroke back at the end of January, and we didn't think he was going to make it through his first night in the hospital. (The docs literally told us if we wanted to say goodbye we'd better do it now.) But he's still going strong; he's working hard with PT and OT and speech therapy. He was in a really good mood today, too, lol.)

When your own kids are growing, you see them everyday and time seems to move differently than it does when you see them about once a week or so. Jude turned 4 last January and Elli is now 2 1/2. They're both in gymnastics class now too. They're not babies anymore! (Elli potty trained HERSELF!) Actually Anita and Aaron are thinking of having another baby.

Trying to figure out trade routes and apprenticeships in my area from the 1820s to 1850s to try and figure out where some imported carved stones came from. Yes, it's weird. But it's also for work, soooooo..........

Nothing fun unfortunately. Uni work and more uni work until i go out for an appointment that's uni related but at least i have the day off work! lol. Tomorrow would be good though even though i have Uni all day I will be meeting up with my Swiss friend who is down at my end of the world this week. Although, in the last 2 weeks I have managed to see 3 movies, Beauty and the Beast twice a week apart and Lego Batman so its not all uni and work!

Practicing for a lecture and researching policies of existing private forms for cultural resource management. And dealing with clients at the job that pays the bills.

Binging on Star Trek fan films. Some are pretty decent and my favourite stars Chris Doohan. /guiltyhappylook I love those films. My son and I saw Vic Mignogna at Comic Con in Boston last summer, and he said working on them was one of the best experiences he's had.

Taking a break from two stinking days of computer/network problems at work. At least I got them up and running again! Without having to threaten them with a sledgehammer.

Three pages into the lecture and my brain shut down. Stupid migraine. Guess I'm back to just being a first responder for legal emergencies for today assuming my eyes will cooperate.
