What else i should be doing: Starting my grad applications. i have the info just don't like writing the actual applications Studying for my exam - granted i did kinda study while on placement and that gave me experience and understanding but still need to sit down and study.

Watching my boyfriend and my son working on the kid's new (to him) car (courtesy of the grandparents) while I finish the Chinese Barbecue Pork recipe the kid wanted to make for dinner. It's nice to see they get along so well, but it's way too hot to be running the broiler...

Today I worked.
Then I came home and did homey stuff like dinner and cat feeding and book reading. And some of that cleaning stuff, too.
Now I should be sleeping, but I popped over to YouTube instead to watch the vid of Whitney Houston singing the Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Superbowl. What a voice she had.

Went to workout this morning. They got my heart rate monitor all figured out so I wasn't dead today. YAY! It was a team workout, though. I always panic at team or partner workouts because even though I'm in pretty good shape, I could probably be the mother of most of the other people there. 2 beautiful, tall, very fit looking young women asked me to be on their team. Yikes!! I'm proud to say I kept up with them pretty well though I was a little slower on the treadmill since they were like 5'9" and I'm only 5'2". Shorter legs, can't run as fast. But I didn't slow them down at all so I was happy! LOL! Today, going to my sister's house for a cookout. July 4th is actually my parents wedding anniversary so my sister always has a cookout-slash-anniversary party. I'm in charge of sweet corn and Drunken Melon Balls. Apparently they were a hit at Ollie's birthday party a few weeks ago.

Leaving about noon to go to my sister's home for a Fourth of July family get-together. I am taking deviled eggs, potato salad and baked beans [it was supposed to only be the eggs and beans, but my nephew and his wife wimped out on the potato salad and decided to bring corn on the cob instead!].

Last week I was interviewed by a newspaper in Rochester because they needed a cemetery preservation professional to quote, and my new organization made a cameo appearance.
The article wound up getting picked up today by USA Today.
Today was spent sending a gazillion texts back and forth between my business advisor and my new public relations person. We're all kind of in shock about it. Wow.

Loved the article Fflur! We just 'toured' the cemetery where Stonewall Jackson is buried as we vacationed through part of VA. I find cemeteries fascinating which my hubby and son find odd. But I love reading them and looking at the variety of stones.
So, this is my first day back from an extended vacation to visit my in-laws... something I'm sure that everyone wants to do on their summer vacation. I did go kayaking, small hike, zip lining, and playing at a small amusement park. So today I'm doing laundry and recouping!

Taking a 3 hour break to sit in the sand and type a bit (writing) while I'm supposed to be typing up charts. I'll get to more of that tonight, but 7 hours earlier today had my head spinning and the waves were calling...

Laurie, Enjoy that sun and sand! You should hopefully be finished with work in the next few days and can allow yourself some down time to write and just treat yourself to a much deserved vacation. And welcome back, Paulina Ann. I'm still in awe that you're so active. Amazing!

Laying down on the couch listening to Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (the Stephen Fry version) and watching my son knit a bluebird. All I need now is a cat curling up next to me and some chocolate.

Went to another funeral today. That makes 5 in the last 11 months. This time it was for my ex's mother-in-law. I am (understandably) not crazy about my ex's wife. But her mom was always very kind to me and very, very nice to my kids. Anita especially loved her. In fact, they had a conversation not long after Anita found out she was pregnant. She hadn't told very many people and not her dad or stepmom yet. According to Anita, her "grandma Karen" called her and this was the conversation that she posted on Facebook Yu-huh. Anyway, if this baby is a girl, they would like to have her middle name be Karen. As for the photo in her vision and dream, it wasn't taken until AFTER she passed away!

I LOVE hearing stories like that, Joyce! Those pictures are wonderful. I still can't believe how much Jude has grown - I remember when he was born! My favorite picture is the last one - so sweet! So, I worked today and now I'm sitting out back with my wine ( ), relaxing and watching Deuce watch the fence - he's just waiting for his arch-nemesis Griffy (the little black dog who lives next door) to come out so they can fence fight. Little do they know Holly, Tim (my neighbors) and I have gotten wise to the both of them. We always make sure to check that it's 'safe' (i.e. the other dog isn't out) before we let our own dog out. It's worked pretty well until their two boys came home from college for the summer - they are not nearly as diligent as Tim and Holly before letting Griffy out. So needless to say, there has been some 'excitement' (and a lot of cursing!) here and there when they both get out at the same time!

Actually I had a lot of fun picturing them cussing each other out through the fence. You need to do a quick dialog of what they would say to each other and post it here. It would be too cute. So Deuce is a Shepherd right? What is the little black dog? I'm picturing a Scottish Terrier like from Lady and the Tramp.

I'm "enjoying" a quiet day of doing laundry and appreciating the central air we had installed when we had to replace the furnace a few years ago. I'm also trying to think of a pot luck dish that I can take to the steam punk themed picnic that I'm going to on Saturday. If my imagination fails, I'll take veggies and hummus.

The Stormwatcher is enjoying a thunderstorm- a nice big loud boomish one- just for a change. : D : D The SW is also going to have to mop out the car that got its rear windows left open in an effort to lure the weather in. It worked!!
